It works great with my phone, but I can't get it working with my laptop. What are the things I should be checking? Here's what I've done so far: It pairs successfully: It's not in multipoint mode-it's only paired to my laptop I've installed all available drivers from Plantronics and Dell - the accepted answer documents how another was discovered, which resolved my issue I have no (!) in Device Manager (though I don't see the headset there either-would I?) I can "configure" the headset by double clicking on it: "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked in the Bluetooth radio settings Apps that let me choose the playback/mic device only list my laptop, not the headset I went into the Bluetooth device's properties and Checked "headset" under the services tab.

This was successful but hasn't delivered any functionality as far as I can tellI'd like to use this headset for VOIP conferencing (Goto meeting, Gmail voice chat, G+ hangouts, Skype, etc.) and listening to music (iTunes).Where else should I be digging? Is it possible that this new headset is simply not compatible with computers (i.e.

it's only compatible with phones)? The MS-supplied Bluetooth drivers don't support HSP/A2DP as a soundcard. Use the drivers that came with your dongle/device.If your laptop manufacturer doesn't list any drivers, do this: Open device manager Open the properties for "generic bluetooth radio" Copy the "Hardware ID" into Google and do a search (but don't download anything yet!) This should tell you what the device is called, e.g.

"Dell Wireless 375 Bluetooth Module" Unless you're already on a reputable site, do a second Google search for the device's name, e.g. "Dell Wireless 375 Bluetooth Module driver download" Download and install the driver from a reputable site (e.g.

Dell) After it's installed, go open the device you already paired and you should see better options To the best of my knowledge, different Bluetooth profiles exist for mobile phones and computers. Computers have Bluetooth technology for sharing data. Mobile phones have Bluetooth technology for communicating voice. Both are Bluetooth but are not able to connect as you would think. The M50 specs read:Bluetooth Profiles: Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), Hands-Free (HFP) Profile 1.6 and Headset (HSP) Profile 1.2So, with the M50 you can only use to pair with a mobile phone and a computer is simply not compatible.

To solve your issue, a different headset like the Plantronics Voyager Pro B230 will pair to your mobile phone and also comes with a USB dongle that plugs into your PC for computer use. One headset to connect to two devices, via voice and data. This simply is not true. This depends on your bluetooth radio hardware/adapter on your computer/laptop and whether it supports the audio/headset profile that the blue tooth headset is using. It has little / nothing to do with the bluetooth accessory itself. maplemale Oct 23 '15 at 16:21 I had a Dell Latitude E7440-and Platronics M50.

I had a similar problem in the past where my Bluetooth headset would pair but wouldn't actually work as an audio device. When I replaced the computer's Bluetooth adapter with a different one, it worked fine under Windows 7 using Microsoft's stock Bluetooth drivers. protected by bwDraco Aug 29 at 1:43Thank you for your interest in this question.Because it has attracted low-quality or spam answers that had to be removed, posting an answer now requires 10 reputation on this site (the association bonus does not count).Would you like to answer one of these unanswered questions instead? Not the answer you're looking for?

Dell Laptop Service Centers in Chennai Reply Delete Varun Reddy February 18, 2016 at 11:37 AMIf you dont do much talking on your mobile phone, youre probably okay with the earbuds that came with it.

And if you listen to a lot of music on that phone, with only the occasional a2dp stereo bluetooth headphones driver windows 7, you might want to consider stereo Bluetooth headphones with a microphone .But a good mono Bluetooth headset is a great accessory if you speak on the phone frequently and want the convenience of having your hands free.

Its also an important item if you need to be sure that your voice sounds clear to the person on the other end, without too much wind or other background noise. And if you spend a decent amount of time talking on the phone, you dont want to stay tethered to your handset by a wire, or to hold the phone with your shoulder while you talkthe latter is terrible for your neck and back.

The average Bluetooth headsets allow the users to enjoy their service for a little more than four hours while a better and high quality model will let the users use it for nearly 10 hours at a stretch.

Most of the modern Bluetooth headsets are v2 or v3 versions. Dell Service Centers in Chennai Reply Delete Jessie Enriquez September 7, 2016 at 8:41 PMhi I am trying to get the a2dp driver for windows 7 as I can't connect my Bluetooth device to my laptop. the link provided by Krishna is only for XP did anyoI just purchased a new SAMSUNG Series 3 NP305E5A-A07US Notebook from NewEgg, and the reason that I went with this particular unit is that it has integrated Bluetooth 4.0.I had also purchase a Crative D100 Bluetooth speaker to use with the new laptop. Now I find out that the Speaker uses Bluetooth profile A2DP, and that Win 7 does not come with this particular profile.I see that there are drivers available for adding A2DP to Win 7, but am having trouble finding one that I can actually download. Can anyone speak to this issue, and is there indeed a driver to make this work?_________________________Yes, I can buy a dongle, but I prefer not to use up one of my usb ports for this, and that is pricely why I dis not by the Lenovo that I was looking at.Thanks,Herk Help, someone, anyone, please.Ok maybe a bit dramatic, but I really would like some help with this, even if it is a suggestion to another forum somewhere that is more geared to this type of question. A2DP support is a function of your Bluetooth driver, not anything native to Windows 7.

What you need to do is figure out who the actual manufacturer of your Bluetooth chipset is (maybe download the trial of SIW and poke around). Then go to their site and download the most up to date Bluetooth stack. If that doesn't have A2DP support, you are probably SOL. I have found out that the Bluetooth chip is made by Atheros.I checked there site for drivers, but there latest driver for Win7 64 bit is for:Bluetooth 2.1+EDR/3.0+HSThe 4.0 drivers are only for Win7 32 bit so far.I will poke around to see if that driver has A2DP support. It looks like you may have found this site.

Make sure that you get the right drivers for your particular chip. I checked the contents of a couple of the packages that are marked Win 7 32-bit, and they actually contain both 32-bit and 64-bit drivers, it's just mislabeled. There are also driver files with the a2dp in their name, so I think you're in luck! It looks like you may have found this site.

OK, I checked in device manager and I see on both bluetooth lines that it says:"On Atherons AR3012 Bluetooth 3.0"The wireless network adapter is listed as:Atheros 7"AR9485WB-EG"So I need to download the AR3012 3.0 Driver. Thanks for the suggestion. Man, nothing is ever easy.I downloaded the Atheros Win7-64 bit AR3012 driver from the site listed above, and it is named as follows:bt- I tried to open the archive, a message came up that Windows could not open the file, and that the file was invalid.I then went and downloaded Win7-Zip, installed it, and tried again. No go.

I still get the same message.I even opened Win7-Zip and tried to open from within the program, but to no avail.Any ideas? OK, there was a "Bluetooth_Suite_win7.exe" file in the folder that extracted the files.I don't really understand it but, never the less, it worked.I will attemt an installation tonight to a freshly imaged, up to date, clean Windows 7 64 bit system.

If it all goes south, I can always reimage and try again.QUESTION - Should I remove all of the bluetooth drivers, or install over them?_________________BTW, I am using EaseUS Todo Backup to Backup and Reimage my Windows partition at each major stage of the setup of this system. Click to expand.Well, I did it both ways.1) I installed over the existing, and it did not help.

No device came up at all.2) Then I reimaged the system back to stock, uninstalled the two Bluetooth Items in Device Manager, under Network adapters, installed again, and still not go.

The driver would not bring up any bluetooth device at all.3) Then I re-imaged again, put my bluetooth speaker in pair mode, and it brought up the phone style, single ear, headset item in devices, and paired as before. The difference now, is that it actually continues to work. I can shut down the laptop, then reboot it, and it automatically pairs. I can turn off the speaker and turn it back on and it automatically pairs.Question 1) This makes no sence, as the system is back to original installation, and it was completely flakey before.

Why would it work now?Question 2) Also, does the type of device that is listed as the connected device have any effect on the type of signal that gets sent, meaning that if the device is a phone style single ear headset; will I get a stereo signal to my speaker? It's pretty hard to follow the steps you did, so I honestly have no idea why it worked this time but didn't before.

Are you using the Atheros driver package or not?As for the device type, yes the profile you use makes a difference. Most Bluetooth devices have multiple different profiles that they support, each with slightly different features, in order to ensure as broad a compatibility as possible. If you're telling Windows that the device is a mono headset, you probably won't get stereo sound. Please do the following:Device Manager -> Bluetooth Radios -> Right click on your Bluetooth device (i.e.

not Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator) -> Properties -> Details Tab -> Choose Hardware Ids from the Property drop down. You should see some really ugly lines with numbers and letters. These are the IDs that I need in order to determine what exact type of device you have. I am starting with the Windows installed drivers for the two bluetooth items listed under Network Adapter, and a2dp stereo bluetooth headphones driver windows 7 attempting to install the Atheros package over the top. Then I tried re-imaged my C-Drive back to the same state as in the above, uninstalling the Windows installed drivers for the two bludtooth items listed under Network Adapter, then attempted to install the Atheros package.Neither of these worked. Now I have found a Bluetooth item under Sound Video and Game Controlers.I will try to get those data lines you are asking for, and I know where to find them now. They will be for the as purchased, onboard, device.BTW.

do you think the Win7-32 driver pachage would work, since there isn't a Win 7-64 package for the AR3012 chip? That is the one that I tried. Is there no Bluetooth radios entry in the Device Manager?

If not, please college the Hardware Ids for every Bluetooth device that you find.As for the drivers, yes the 32-bit package will work. It's actually got drivers for both 32-bit and 64-bit inside (I extracted it and checked). Sorry to take so long to get back, but I ran into an issue with the Samsung Recovery utility, and am inthe process of completely wiping, repartitioning, and reformating the drive, for a completely clean reinstall of Windows 7 from their supplied CD.I have all the appropriat drivers for my specific model, but am incliened to download and install the Atherow Win7 32 driver instead of the supplied driver. The only issue is that it is not completely clear how to actually install this driver. It won't extract using WinXip, but inside the folder is an exe that extracts, then there are seemingly two install files, oneOne of our really awesome fans just posted this as she was having issues with some of the audio drivers on her Windows7 computer.I did several searches and attemped to resolve the issue of "No sound" from my Windows 7 laptop to my Boombot Rex speaker.

the final attempt was locating and installing Windows Mobile Device Center followed by updates. I did get Rex recognized as a speaker and got some sound. However, it was terrible. And, every time I went out and back into PC I had to uninstall Rex and reinstall drivers. On a final attempt, I received this message:Compatibility issue between a Bluetooth service and WindowsA service associated with a Bluetooth enabled device isn't compatible with this version of Windows.

This service might not be required for this device to work properly. If your Bluetooth enabled device is working properly, you can ignore this error. Other Bluetooth connections, and your devices, will continue to work properly. If your device is not working properly, or if you believe this service is necessary, contact your device manufacturer."In conclusion, I don't think the problem is yours - the device manufacturer. There are compatibility issue between Bluetooth speakers and Windows 7 Home Premium.

If you want a workaround, this one might do > To stream HiDef music from PC to a Blutooth(BT) device e.g. wireless headphones or BT wireless speakers - using BlueTooth adaptor youll need a A2DP driver, which Windows Xp, Vista and 7 dont supply. for me, I am content to take Rex and Vega (my GS3) out in the Great Northwet and enjoy the awesome sound.

Finally made it!, Great help from had to download the driver from my CSR Bluetooth Chipset and after that use those files to update the drivers on my Win 7 Device Manager Guys, its needed to install a Bluetooth Stack.Try to install TOSHIBA Bluetooth stack, initially intended for Toshiba laptops, but its compatible with almost every BT adapter, since it's not too old.

Thus, in order to get full support with a2dp / sink audio bluetooth devices. Using it for years with my philips bluetooth headphones This article describes how to install and enable Bluetooth headset profile (HSP) on both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) editions of Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Vista, and Microsoft Windows Server 2008.

It also provides CSR Bluetooth device drivers for select OEMs and aftermarket Bluetooth dongles. Due to the fact that Windows doesnt support Bluetooth headset profile (HSP) out of the box, if you want to use a Bluetooth headset with your adapter, youll need a little creative workaround to add the headset profile to the default Microsoft stack. Download either of the x86 or x64 compilations of the CSR Bluetooth driver and extract its contents to a folder.

When you try to pair your headset to your computer, Windows will ask for drivers for the headset since it doesnt find the appropriate headset profile. Point Windows to the folder where you have extracted the CSR drivers to make it work. Make sure you go into the device in the Bluetooth Devices panel and check off the boxes for unwanted profiles. The way a device uses Bluetooth technology depends on its profile capabilities, such as Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP), Hands-Free Profile (HFP), Headset Profile (HSP), Basic Imaging Profile (BIP), Hard Copy Cable Replacement Profile (HCRP), Video Distribution Profile (VDP), etc. For every Bluetooth profile to function, you need to install its appropriate drivers, like for example using Cambridge Silicon Radio Bluetooth Driver Pack.

Which version of CSR drivers would best suit me?Well, that depends Depending on the vendor ID of the Bluetooth radio device youve installed, newer driver packs might refuse to work. CSR drivers from version 4 onward (4.0.55 and later) only support CSR-based Bluetooth devices.Users say on non-CSR radios, v3.0.0.183 (7/10/2008) works in stereo, but v5.0.11.0 (8/13/2009)installed by an optional Windows updategives the Bluetooth Peripheral Device (Bluetooth Stereo Audio) a failed driver icon.

In this case, you need to uninstall the update and perhaps forcibly install (downgrade to) version 3 or earlier drivers. Whether or no, Id advise against installing any optional driver update once your device is working desirably. Coming up next: When downgrading, beware of a service name conflict!Though it might sound dumb, there comes a time when downgrading is inevitable, and along comes its complications. Read more: Possible Service Name Conflict after a CSR Driver Upgrade / DowngradeCSR has changed the A2DP driver, yet they used the same service name (bthav).

This causes a conflict, obviously. To switch from version and earlier to 4.0.55 and later, delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesbthav in the Registry beforehand and reboot. To swith back (downgrade, which I prefer), delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicescsr_a2dp in the Registry beforehand and reboot.CAUTION!

To be safe, in cases like this, at least always first export these keys. That said, I have not seen any problems in this particular case. With 5 buggy releases (4.0.55, 5.0.7, 5.0.9, 5.0.11, and 5.0.13) it took them very long to figure this out. Now, BthAv.inf version 5.0.14 and later delete the old bthav service automatically. Id really like to have a baseball-bat-involved word with them! Cambridge Ever since Apple has enabled the Bluetoothto stream music wireless on iPhone years ago, I have been always fascinated by the fact that you can now listen to music without having the annoying wire around you.

You can actually do the same on Windows too. Here is what Ive done with the Bluetooth streaming on my Acer Aspire 5580 laptop pairing with LG HBS-200 Stereo Headphone set in Windows 7 RC.Before I start here is the different version of Windows that Supports* the A2DP (taken from wiki) Windows XP: Does not natively support A2DP, but newer Bluetooth USB dongles and built-in adapters include drivers with A2DP support. Windows Vista: Does not support A2DP natively, but third-parties can provide A2DP profile support without entirely replacing Microsofts stack.

Service Pack 2 adds Bluetooth 2.0 capabilities. Windows 7: RC no longer includes a Bluetooth audio class driver (However, do support A2DP)Since my laptop is a lower end of the Acer Aspire series it does not have Bluetooth hardware built in.

What I did was go to eBay and bought aUSB Bluetooth dongle and with a week and a half waiting here it is.Its cheap.

You can get it for under $2 plusfree shipping. Ive also bought the LG HBS-200 to test out the A2DP music stream.Step 1 Plug in the USB Bluetooth dongleif you dont have Bluetooth build inAfter youve plugged in Windows will automatically find the right driver for you. As you can see here the driver is successfully installed. Step 2Type Bluetooth in the start menuClick for Add a Bluetooth device, in the meantime, make sure your Bluetooth headphone is on.Windows will automatically search for your device.

With any luck, your device should be listed below. [Note: If you need to enter any passcode try 0000 thats the default for most of the Bluetooth device out there, if doesnt work, check the user menu of your device.]Go to control panel > Hardware and Sound > Device and Printer > Bluetooth Devices You should be able to see your device here, and test out the sound settings etc.

Make sure youve chosen the Bluetooth headphone for playback and you are now good to go! Bluetooth Peripheral Device. No driver found." I spent many hours trying to figure out how to connect my two Windows 7 64-bit PCs to my Bluetooth stereo audio device (the Motorola S705) but the problem seems to be generic to many Bluetooth stereo audio devices, and the web shows many people havingthis problem, so I thought I'd post my solution in case it helps anyone else.SYMPTOMS:A Bluetooth-capable Windows 7 PC can pair, but cant connect, to a stereo audio device (like the Motorola S705 SoundPilot) via Bluetooth.

The PC and the audio device may pair, but then Windows 7 provides the following error messages: Devicedriver software was not successfully installed. Bluetooth Peripheral Device. No driver found. It may be worth noting that I had no problem connecting my Bluetooth audio device to my cell phone or Windows XP PC. And the Windows 7 PC was able to connect to other Bluetooth devices, such as mice or keyboards.CAUSE:Even though a Windows 7 PC may have a working Bluetooth driver that connects to some Bluetooth devices (like mice or keyboards), a Windows 7 PC may not have the necessary A2DP & AVRCP (audio-capable) Bluetooth software & drivers installed.

Thissoftware deficiency may occur, especially if the PC has been upgraded from an earlier version of Windows or the PC maker has simply not provided the latest driver update. This problem can occur even if"Windows Update" is enabled and even if Windows 7isallowed to automatically search for the driver online.SOLUTION:If the PC has an add-on Bluetooth adapter/dongle, download & install the latest driver directly from the Bluetooth dongle makers website, if possible.A) If the PC has Bluetooth built-in, download & install the latest Bluetooth driver directly from the PC manufacturer, if possible.B) If the add-on Bluetooth adapter/dongle maker, or the PC-makerdoesn't offerfull-featuredBluetooth software for Windows 7, it ispossible (not guaranteed)that the maker of the Bluetoothchips inside the adapter/dongle/PC does offer suchfull-featured Bluetooth software (but the maker of the adapter/dongle/PC didn't bother to test it and include it on their website).

Ifso, you may be able to do the following:1) On the Windows 7 PC, go into to the Device Manager (Start Menu/Control Panel/Device Manager) and expand Bluetooth Radios. You should see twoitems. (Ignore the 2nd item which says something like Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator.) The firstitem shouldcontain the name of theBluetooth module, possiblywith thename ofthe Bluetoothchipmaker (e.g.Broadcom, Cambridge Silicon Radio "CSR", or Toshiba), but also possibly with just the module maker's name (e.g.Dell, or HP).

If the chipmaker'sname isn't apparent, then double-click on the icon, click on the "Details" tab, and then select "Manufacturer" from the "Properties" drop down menu. The Bluetooth chipmaker's name should appear under "Properties". If not, you're probably out of luck butyou could surf around some of the other "Properties" so see if you can get a hint at the Bluetooth chipmaker's name.2) Go to the chipmakers website to download the latest driver.

For example, in the case of a Broadcom Bluetooth radio chip, download the Widcomm Bluetooth software from Broadcoms website, With the Bluetooth hardware adapter/dongle installed (if not built-in), install the chipmakers Bluetooth software.Once the Bluetooth software is installed, you should be able to pair and connect with the Bluetooth audio device in the normal manner (Start Menu/Devices and Printers/Add a device).Note that in any case, once the driver is installed and the Bluetooth audio device is properly installed, paired, and connected, youmay need to go into the audio properties of the PC (Start Menu/Control panel/Sound) and set the default audio playback device to be the Bluetooth headphones when listening through the Bluetooth audio device.

When not listening through the Bluetoothaudio device, the user will have to switch the default audio playback device back to the speakers. Hi,Thank you for sharing the resolution, as this would help other members of the community facing the same issue. If you have any other queries or comments related to Microsoft Windows, you can post it on Microsoft Answers Forum and we will be happy to answer you.Hope this information helps you. I bought a new bluetooth USB adaptor and could not get it to work with a bluetooth receiver.

Can't beleive it, thanks for the great information I have a HP ProBook 6560b with an internal Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth card. I am trying to pair myBluebuds Xto stream audio from my computer. I have an HP Laptop, a few years old now, but still performing pretty well for my purposes, and until the price of dual-purpose tablet/notebook hybrids comes down, it will continue as my prime PC.Anyhows, I persevered and (based on the search term HP Integrated module with Bluetooth 2.1 wireless found a likely Win 7 driverhere. This has worked (Windows Update thinks the 7 year old MS driver is up to date!) So I can now use the headphones wires-free at last!Brian You spent hours trying to pair a bluetooth device without updating your drivers?

This doesn't help me at all.No. I updated the drivers through Windows Update, throughHP's website, and through the Bluetooth Dongle vendor's website but none of the drivers were new enough. I had to figure out the maker of the chip inside of the Bluetooth dongle and then update thedriver from the CHIPMAKER'S website. That's highly unusual. I've found that Windows 7 does not have the A2DP stereo drivers that Windows XP has.

On the Microsoft site you can find XP Mode for Windows 7 users. It is a fully certified version of Windows XP Professional and it runs as a program in a window. It takesup a lot of memory, but it works. So, I paid the $99 for a technician, Chandran from the service answer desk at Microsoft to help me connect an A2DP device to my Dell Inpiron 1720 laptop. 32 bit Windows 7.
